countryside love

So, what´s up? Didn´t write the previous two months as the speed of planning settled down. But now there are only six days left until I head off to Istanbul. I organized most of the stuff to prepare for my trip and leave my life in Germany behind me. I applied for a new passport, quit all not neccesary insurances, quit my job, packed my backpack, booked the first hostels for Istanbul and Bangkok. Tomorrow will be moving day to empty my apartment and store all furniture and belongings in my dads house. Sunday is to rest and say goodbye to my best friend as he is going back to Ghana early monday morning. The follow-up days are for last minute planning and a last final goodbye.

Since wednesday I am at my dads place on the countryside and I kind of fell in love with the peaceful area again. No big city life, less noise, less people. It´s more a chill-out area than the I have all possibilities but don´t use them. The familiarity in which I grew up is relaxing and gives security for the coming trip. I like Hamburg a lot but there was still the anonymity of a metropol making me feeling lonely sometimes though being surrounded by people. And being back on the countryside was giving me nice experience again: when I applied for my passport here I didn´t need to make an appointment and wait several weeks for it. I just entered the townhall and the room, was serviced more than I expected and they didn´t make a big deal out of it that I need a second passport but can´t return my old one when my dad will pick the new one. I will just get a second passport - without prove. Nice!

For my trip it is a good moment to realize this feeling. When I was planning I was kind of fixed on exciting encounters in big cities as they promise many possibilities to do and see in a different country. But maybe now I will leave the cities faster than I thought and put my focus more on the countryside to have less stress and more time to enjoy my trip. A few more intense meetings will be better than many superficial ones I won´t remember already the week after. Don´t you agree?
